We are looking for an Instructional Designer to create interactive e-Learning solutions to expand training opportunities to remote IT employees. This is a steady government contract with a federal Veteran's Affairs facility in Falling Waters, WV and you will work at the client site. You will also receive guidance from the Program Manager regarding both design and development processes.
Job Responsibilities
As an Instructional Designer, you will design, implement and/or revise mobile learning applications, websites, and dashboards. In doing so, you will combine audio, video, chat and virtual machines in "virtual classrooms" designed to promote distance education and to decrease travel hours and dollars.
Your specific duties as an Instructional Designer will include:
Developing and delivering learning system training/mobile learning tools to support client objectives
Answering learning system-related questions from employees, staff, and administrators
Managing system reports and recommending system changes and improvements
Providing learning technology support for mobile learning applications as well as lecture-based programs, including webinars, video and blended learning options
Participating in needs assessment activities such as leading focus groups and research initiatives to ensure system usability and identify future needs
Administering learning and curricula assets in enterprise learning systems
Working closely with Practice Lead, individual project managers and other project team members
Ensuring timeliness, accuracy and quality of assigned project work (75-85% accuracy expected in all deliverables
Managing project status information in the form of briefings, project update meetings, written, electronic and graphic reports
Job Requirements
As an Instructional Designer, you must be self-motivated and able to perform effectively on a wide range of projects in a fast-paced and matrixed environment, with or without supervision. You must also be highly detail oriented with excellent organizational, time-management and prioritization skills. It is also important that you have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to foster and maintain positive client relationships.
Specific qualifications for the Instructional Designer position include:
Bachelor's degree in computer technology field.
Experience in the design and development of mobile learning applications.
Instructional design skills with a strong interest in cutting-edge web development and social technologies.
Experience in the development of dynamically generated web-based applications
Strong mobile web user interface development skills
Ability to grasp a wide range of content areas
Ability to apply business skills to management of client relationships
Ability to present and write sections of proposals
Ability to work with ambiguity in a complex, fast-paced environment
Ability to think strategically and systematically
Ability to create enriching interactive experiences
Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the full range of FLASH technologies and their use in instructional delivery
Ability to pass a background check
The following are highly desirable:
JavaScript, JQuery, CSS, XML, HTML5, PHP, Oracle SQL, Oracle PL/SQL, MySQL, Microsoft web server administration.
Ability to develop native mobile applications for iOS, Android and/or Windows Phone
Understanding and ability to create clean user interfaces.
Adherence to Section 508 and SCORM.
Membership in professional development organizations.
Experience with Tandberg/Cisco VTC, a plus

It is our 2012 event internship program. This program is designed to provide students with an educational, meaningful and exciting work experience. It will offer insight into working in chosen career field, and will allow intern to make professional contacts with industry professionals.
Our internship program runs 8 to 12 weeks and will conclude late August 2012. Internships can be completed for credit, but credit is not required. Program provides students with the opportunity to gain the relevant knowledge and obtain skills required in their field and to add to their portfolio. 1st day of internship employment will be Monday, June 4, 2012 -- location can either be Marietta, OH or Williamstown, WV offices. Some remote work is possible.
