Web Developer (Charleston, WV)
Hello, I am Sean OKelly, owner of the Web Design Shop in Charleston, WV (web-design-shop.com and sdoenterprises.com). I need a developer to work on a contract basis (50% paid upfront/50% on completion). Pay starts at $15/hour. You can either work with me at my home office, or you can work from your own home or office. We agree on the number of hours required to do a job and proceed from there. I've got more work than I can do myself, and if all goes well this can grow to a full time salaried position (with health benefits).
You need to have the following:
A cell phone where I can reach you
A high speed internet connection
A web development environment (Dreamweaver, Frontpage, Visual Studio, Expression Web, etc...)
A graphics design program (photoshop, fireworks, etc...)
You must be able to do the following:
Hand Code Classic ASP pages
Work with Database Servers (Oracle, SQL Server, MYSQL, etc....)
Integrate Graphic Design with web code
HTML, CSS, XHTML, XML, AJAX, JAVA, etc... (basically well rounded in web technologies)
You must be able to demonstrate the following:
Previous Published Work (active web sites, graphic designs, etc.)
Show code you've developed yourself to solve a specific programming problem (and explain it to me)
Complete a small basic project showing your skill set (this will be very simple, and if you can complete it satisfactorily you will get paid - even if we don't hire you)
I can teach you on our specific systems, but in a nutshell here is the platform I usually use:
Microsoft Web Servers (IIS)
Microsoft Databases (SQL Server, MS Access)
FTP Access for Developer and for clients
Classic ASP Coding
Online Content Management System (custom - does use some generic scripting such as fckeditor and siteman)
