Summary As the Software/Web Developer you are responsible for the design, layout and coding of the Resort Point of Sale System (POS) software, related software systems and website applications. You are involved with the technical and graphical aspects of the websites - how the site works and how it looks and integrates with the Resort Point of Sale Systems. You will also be involved with the maintenance, coding, and update of existing websites and POS software systems.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Write the programming code, either from scratch or by adapting existing software and graphics packages to meet business requirements
2. Test the websites and POS applications to identify any technical problems
3. Website management using WordPress and/or Umbraco CMS
4. Continually strive to develop and enhance our websites to achieve the highest ranking status possible for website design and popularity.
5. Continually work with Marketing and assist with SEO and linkage with other sites and mediums to maximize our exposure to the correct demographic customer base.
6. Improve the overall performance by optimizing and analyzing the speed of the websites and resort software applications
7. Monitor the uptime of the website and resort software applications, so that the availability is as close to 100% as possible.
8. Assist Marketing to update the website database with current pricing, clear dialogue and new products as added to the company's catalogue.
9. Work closely with our vendors to maintain and /or develop interfaces between 3rd party applications and our internal software applications.
10. Present ideas for system improvements and assist with cost proposals
11. Working closely with analysts, designers and staff
12. Produce detailed specifications and writing the program code
13. Test the product in controlled, real situations before going live
14. Prepare training manuals or user guides for end users
15. Maintain the systems once they are up and running
16. Contribute to a positive team environment, assisting other Departments and I.T. staff as needed.
17. Follows established safety procedures and comply with all policies.
