How to create a web link?

 Web links are useful in two ways.  First, they allow you to have a single spot to categorize and add links to external websites.   Secondly, they can help you track the number of people who click-through using your weblink.

In order to create a Web Link you need to:

   1. Creae a Web Link Category
   2. Create a Web Link

1. Create a Weblink Category

   1. From the Joomla Administrator Menu, choose Components > Web Links > Web Link Categories.
   2. Click the "New" icon in the upper right.
   3. On the page " Category: New [ Weblinks: ]" Complete the following fields:
          * Category Title (This will appear in menus)
          * Category Name
          * Description (Optionally, enter a short description - this can show in web link tables)
   4. Click the "Save" icon in the upper right. 

 
2. Create a Web Link

   1. From the Joomla Administrator menu, choose Components > Web Links > Web Link Items.
   2. Click the "New" icon in the upper right.
   3. Complete the following fields:
          * Name
          * Category
          * URL
          * Description (Optionally, enter a short description, this can show below web link items in a web link table)
          * Target
   4. Click the "Save" icon in the upper right.

NOTE: You can create a menu button to a single weblink by creating a URL Link Menu Item and pasting in the URL of a Web Link found in a Web Link Category Table.
